shareI gave it a 5/10 and I consider that mild. There is some amusement to be had from this film, but it is really not good. The production values are horrible for a film of such a well known franchise. The plot and the dialogue are also poor. One of the worst "big" films I have ever seen.
I must say that I like Superman III a lot more btw. Not a great movie but not bad either. I'd rate that one a 7/10.
I'll take this over Richard Pryor stealing screentime from Superman just because the studio was dumb and thought a Superman movie couldn't sell despite the previous 2 movies proving that wrong.
sharePryor's performance never bothered me. And even if it did it would not have would not have been of the same level as the many flaws of IV. I gave III a 7/10 btw and I and II both an 8/10.
shareWell I hated Superman 3 and think it was horrible. Not saying 4 is the best but I always enjoyed it and I did not enjoy 3. I hated Richard Pryor being in it and I did not care for the main villains of it. 4 was more fun imo.

shareWhatever. To me Superman 3 is the complete epitomy of how not to do a Super Hero movie. Rather see Superman fight against an evil version of himself and see Superman throw nuclear bombs into the sun than see a Superman movie where Superman gets shoved to the side in favor of a comedian.
shareHuh? Superman beats up on Clark Kent & acts tough a lot & that's much cooler with much cooler special effects than in Part 4 that looked so cheesy & poor special effects & a corny fight. Superman isn't even as tough as the bad one from 3. I bet u the mean Superman can beat Sun Man with not much of a struggle.

shareNo, it's not. Everything about this movie is godawful, even the score is flat. I mean, I saw this movie in a theater with a bunch of other "Superman" fans, and when we heard the overture we knew that there might be a problem.
I'd give it a 2/10. 3.7 is generous, it's what you give a movie that's below par but not dreadful.
I would think that a 4/10 or 5/10 would describe a movie that's "below par but not dreadful." A 2/10 or 3/10 tells me the flick isn't even worth watching, although there might be a couple notable points that prevent it from being a 1/10.
