Do you skip the first few minutes?

I always thought it was a mistake to start the movie with the very long panning of Spaceball One! I know it was supposed to take a long time but I always forward it when I watch it on DVD!

Does anyone do the same?

Hell no, that sets the comedic tone for the movie.

It seems you don't understand it.
I laugh/smile and realy enjoy every time and actually looking forward to see this take. I love this scene. Fantastic.
But U have your FF bottom, so there "you" go.

No way !. I love that part !. It's one of my favourite parts of the film actually, and it makes me laugh every time i see it !. The music during that scene cracks me up too lol !.

I just rewatched Spaceballs the other day. I was cracking up at that scene. Just when you think it's done...it keeps going! Classic.

To me it came off as a 2001 A Space Odyssey joke. Almost 20 minutes of that movie was shots of ships.

I was just listening to the beginning of this movie and heard the extended music during the space ship shot and was laughing a bunch after a couple of minutes, as I could picture in my mind the long space ship shot (seen the movie many times years ago). This movie works on many levels here. Partly, that it's so ridiculously long and unnecessary is what makes it funny.

if you dont like the length of the scene, then be happy Mel Brooks didnt make it as long as he wanted to.... he wanted it to be an hour and a half lol
