Are the DVD's anamorphic widescreen?

Or are they 'matted' so the image looks stretched and distorted when played on a widescreen TV? I want to get this on DVD after not seeing it for years but www.dvdcompare.net only has them listed as the matted versions.

In the Michael J. Fox Comedy Collection box set I got last night it said all 4 films (including SOMS) were anamorphic. I don't know if it's true though since I don't own a widescreen TV yet.
