Apparently they both stole it whole from something else. i'm surprised that MST3K didn't notice when they riffed on Laserblast, though maybe it had been so long since they watched this piece of trash that they'd deliberately forgotten. And who can blame them?

There's a lot of references in the movies they riff, even now with Rifftrax, but they don't always notice. Recently Rifftrax featured "FUTURE FORCE" which included music by Steve McClintock, but they didn't notice Steve also contributed to the SPACE MUTINY soundtrack.
