"im gonna be taking these diapers and...*UH* whatever cash u have" i never knew nicolas cage was funny

the scene where he pulls the pin is over the top (maybe a jab at 80s good guy bad guy flicks...) and when leonard notices it h.i. replies with *shrug* sorry LMAO i havent laughed that hard in a minute

The whole chase scene is hilarious, completely a farce. I also was moved by the end with HI's dreaming of his future, which turned out to be touching and successful. Made me want to cry the first time I saw it. Think it was the music.

It's already been said, but the scene in the car after they take the baby, and Ed immediately bawls "I LOVE HIM SO MUCH!!!!!" It's more the way Holly Hunter delivers the line. Heck, there are so many lines in this movie. I just saw it again, and I find myself laughing at just about everything even though I know what's coming and have seen it so many times already.

Everything about this movie is hilarious.

But one that sticks out is "Say that reminds me"

When HI knocks Smalls off the bike with the board.

Some that I didn't see mentioned:
"We felt the institution no longer had anything to offer so we released ourselves on our own recognizance."
"They were everywhere, it was kinda horrifying honey."
"Cop couldn't find his butt if it had a bell on it."
"You should breast feed...you appear to be capable."

Dot's indignant gasp alone in the car when she sees HI returning without a toddler.
Distraught, HI goes back one more time to leaf through the playboy.
Gale's persistent needling about who wears the pants.
The destruction of HI's trailer during the fight scene.

Some of my favorites that I saw mentioned:
These blow-up into funny shapes?...
Well, which is it young feller?...
I'll just be takin' these here huggies...
Federal BI
Hey kid, hit the deck. (chucks peanuts/candy at his son)
When smalls shoots the lizard off the rock. (something really funny about how fast it happens--you don't even see it fly off-screen)

When Goodman holds up the guy at gas station and asks:

You got balloons that blow up in funny shapes?

Response: Nope, unless you think round is funny???

One of my all time favourite comic lines in movie history!!

And how could we ever forget this...

FBI Agent: Sir, we discovered you were born Nathan Huffheins.
Nathan Arizona Sr.: Yeah, I changed my name. What of it?
FBI Agent: Can you give us an indication why?
Nathan Arizona Sr.: Would you shop at a store called Unpainted Huffheins?

"You wet yourself, you wet yourself! Mr. McDonough wet himself daddy!"

Also when the kid with the eyepatch throws jello at HI.

The scene where Gale and Evelle realize they left Jr. behind. They stop the car and Evelle looks on top of it and freaks. His facial expression is hilarious.

Ed: "what's that smell?"

Gale: "We don't always smell this way Mrs McDonnough. I was just explaining to your better half here, that when we were tunneling out, we happened to hit the main sewer line. DUMB luck, that."

A favorite is John Goodman smoking a cigarette while eating a bowl of cereal less than ten feet from a newborn baby.

The little kid writing FART on the wall with a crayon and the father replies, "Buford already knows his ABC's."

The fact that the movie mocked Shawshank Redemption's emotional sewage-escape scene seven years before it even came out.

I think the brothers screaming is one of the best parts - both post-escape and when they think they've put the baby on the roof of the car. Also, who the hell stomps on the break when there's a baby unstrapped on the roof? :D
