A horrible portrayal of Arizona.

I didn't find "Raising Arizona" funny at all.

It was a senseless film that depicted people from Arizona as being rural hayseed types. Most Arizonans live in urban areas, and don't talk like hicks.

They got a starter home in "suburban Tempe" - which showed a few little trailers in the middle of a desert. In reality, Tempe is a suburb of Phoenix with a very active nightlife, and a diverse population of many ethnic cultures. It's not anything at all like it's portrayed in the movie.

According to H.I.'s narration, the Arizona quints were the biggest thing to hit the state since the Hoover Dam. Personally, I'd like to hit the director of this idiotic film with something big!

How this movie earned big bucks at the box office and beyond, I'll never understand the reasons.

I'm from Ky. Every place on this earth has its stereotype, etc. You think being from Arizona makes you exempt from humor? Get over yourself. Its a movie. Its fiction. You are a p****.

Wow, just wow.

The fact that Arizoners/ites/ians/whatever have taken offense to this film is a joke in and of itself. These complaints are only going to enhance my next viewing of this film.

The fact is it's more of a satire about smalltown/backwoods american families/couples than it is about you folks from Arizona. However, clearly there was some resonance with the messages in the film and your own lifestyle. I suggest you take things a little less personally, it can take the fun out of things.

So, a TV show or movie has protrayed you in a stereotypical, unflattering light?
Pull up a chair son, you'd don't know the half of it.

You shouldn't complain. Try living in Kentucky like I do. Talk about untrue portrayals.

I've lived in Arizona for nearly all my life and I was a little put of by the fact that EVERYONE in this movie had a southern accent and the only people that I've ever heard in Arizona that speak with a southern accent are people that came from somewhere else . I don't think (or at least hope) that people who see this think of it as a representation of all Arizonans , so if you don't take so seriously you won't be so offended . I thought the movie was hilarious .
