why is this a 7.8 and not a 10 on imdb?

I'd love to see it with a 10.0 rating, but gee, I don't know, somehow I'm not surprised that's not its rating.

"Perfect" is a subjective term, especially when describing art. What might be perfect to you isn't necessarily perfect to someone else.

7.8 is actually a pretty high rating on the IMDb. Considering that an 8.0 rating will get a film close to the Top 250, and that even the #1 film *only* scores a 9.2, I'd say that 7.8 is a pretty honorable average, probably due more to the relatively small number of votes than the ratings themselves.

This world is a comedy to those that think, a tragedy to those that feel.

It was a brilliant film. I remember when I first saw it in the theater it filled me with despair. It ripped my heart out then stomped on it over and over again, then briefly gave me some hope it might put it back in my chest, only to throw it on a bonfire and burn it to cinders. It was unending, excruciating and exquisite emotional torture, brilliantly done.
