Broken arm scene
During the competition one guy gets his arm broken. Always thought that scene looked very real. Always wondered if it was.

Looks freaking real to me. Watching it right now. Yikes.
sharePointed this out to my mother while watching my Blu-ray last night (it was her first time watching it). It looks real, but my mother was naturally wondering how this could've happened on a movie. Perhaps out of the realism wanted for the movie, the extras were really pullin' hard. Stallone himself has gotten hurt on movie sets; once he landed in the hospital sparring with Dolph Lundgren in Rocky IV.
shareI was actually coming here to ask the same thing! LOL! I did a little digging and found this:
I think his name was Michael Bociu a German National Champion in LA for a wrestling tournament when the film was shooting. And just to affirm, the break was very real and totally unplanned.
So it seems that they were shooting scenes of real arm wrestling matches to include in the film and ended up getting that shot of the guy getting his arm broken.
