Michael giving Hawk the "believe in yourself speech"

Am I the only one who wanted to just yell at the kid that there is a big freakin difference between beating a pimple faced punk in an arcade vs. beating a guy who has not lost in five years doing this full-time?

It's relative. His son didn't have much experience in arm-wrestling if at all (maybe some with his dad or in the academy horsing around with other cadets). "Michael" wanted to encourage his dad the same way, using the same words his dad did when he lost against the pimple-faced guy at the arcade.

I didn't even like the kid. I can understand he might be a little upset at not seeing his dad in a long time, but you have to like the kid at some level.
