Looking at the gross and the budget looks like it bombed big time and it wasn't until I was about sixteen that I realized I was just about the only person I know who's seen this movie and loved it.

I'm surprised, really! What makes this so much worse than The Goonies?

One of my favorites as a kid and J still love this movie. It did bomb. It barely made about 3.7 million and finished in 127 place that year. Another movie that I love is The Gate and that finished in the top 50 with like 15 million. The Monster Squad is a much better movie and holds up better then The Gate.
