I just watched this again and noticed in the scene where Dracula passes through the cop car and heads to the house, the mother is putting up clothes. Well, the candle behind her goes out and she nervously turns around like, "Did I just hear that candle go out?" I'm pretty sure that's one of the most silent noises ever.

Maybe just suddenly 'had a feeling' something was amiss.

Humans have feelings like that sometimes.
