Is there anybody who likes this who likes "Phantasm"?

I'm sure there is, but in effect, I'm asking such people to reveal themselves. I'm just curious. There couldn't be any particular rhyme or reason to it, apart from the "child trying to save the town (world) from a supernatural (alien) adversary" concept, with which only one of the Phantasm films exactly deals. I'll note, a number of Stephen King's novels deal with this. What are some thoughts about those having been adapted to the cinema medium?

I like the movie Phantasm.

Not really a big fan of The Monster Squad.

They tried to make a pretty good movie.

Well, you're here so that counts. Even a film's most ardent critic counts as a fan as long as he/she knows every intricate detail of the film as opposed to being the type of person who critiques something they only saw once and on which kept falling asleep.

Yep, I love both of those movies.

The original Phantasm is possibly my favorite horror film ever. And while The Monster Squad doesn't quite hold that sort of place in my heart, I still get a big kick out of it every time I watch it. I have to admit though, that I never really thought much about any similarities between the two movies.

So my answer to your question is a resounding "Yes".

Well, there aren't many, which is why I brought up Stephen King's work. The common chord is that of children defending themselves against the supernatural forces of evil.
