I'm not an expert on track and field rules, so can someone help me out here?
During the scene where Dr. Hammond in Chris's body was running in the relay race, why would he think that he could get a running start before receiving the baton? Do the rules ever differ under different circumstances?
A baton has to be exchange in a 20 meter section of a race. A runner can get a running start in the section too. Dr.Hammond/Chris probably passed that section. Can't recall what their race was. 4x200meter relay or 4x400meter. Definitely not the 4x100 because it is too fast to film for that scene.
