Much worse movies out there than this. This one had a fairly large budget. As far as big movie franchises and sequels go, the worst off the top of my head has to be Exorcist II: The Heretic. While Jaws: The Revenge isn't a great movie as far as serious reviews/criticism go, for what it is I find it very enjoyable and better than part 3. Part 3 is the worst of the franchise IMO. I think the revised/blow up ending for Jaws: The Revenge is inferior(the small scale model of the boat and shark exploding is cringe worthy and almost unwatchable) to the much better original/theatrical ending where the shark gets speared, spits blood, and sinks to the bottom of the ocean with the front end of the boat. Wish they would release the complete original version but glad we got the original ending as an extra on the blu ray at least. I actually stop the blu ray at the climax and put on the original ending to finish the movie. Hopefully one day I won't have to.
