Not the worst. Slow, but worthwhile.

This movie gets off to a slow start, and takes a while to get going. I think the writers could have introduced some of the villains earlier and built more tension into the storyline. But it is not the worst.

I've seen a lot of 80's movies that make you cringe. This one doesn't. There's nothing bad or super-cheesy about it... it's just not really good. If the movie took itself a little more seriously, some of the moments between John Cusack and Robert Loggia might have been really classic. You aren't really sure sometimes if this is a serious movie or just a silly 80's misadventure movie, but at least it never gets cheesy.

If you're a Cusack fan, it's worthwile, but not essential.

It sure beats the crap out of "Tuff Turf," I'll say that.

reply

I will not hear "Tuff Turf" disparaged.

The JimCarrollBand killin it at the warehouse party. Cmon!

I actually prefer the beginning. Up until it gets too serious with the villains, the whole pursuit part of the movie was enjoyable and had great locales.

Worth watching.

It's certainly worth watching for Cusack fans, but it's a bit of a letdown considering all the other talent involved. 6/10 stars from me.

It's like a crappier version of The Sure Thing, except this time he ends up with the girl he's trying to get to.

reply

He ends up with the girl in The Sure Thing, too; just not the one he set out to be with.

"She's, like, a biscuit older than me..."

This is another movie I haven't seen since around the early 90's.
