Those creatures in The Hidden remind me slightly of the Zotl [from Last Legends Of Earth] for some reason. Now THATS a book I'd like to see brought to life via the cinema.

I'll have to check that out, thanks. I have noticed some parallels in Hal Clement's first novel "Needle".
