Cinematic trend

This movie was the first time I can remember seeing someone holding a gun sideways while shooting. There was a scene toward the end where one of the Secret Service agents held his gun horizontal to the ground while firing it. By today's standards, that illustration is considered "gangster," meaning it's cool and arrogant. The "sideways trend" looks good on camera and more movies are using it. "The Usual Suspects" and "Training Day" are two more recent movies where this technique can be seen. Although it may be cutting-edge and stylish, it's not the proper way to shoot a gun.
