why...Why....WHY!!!!

Why...

...doesn't this movie EVER get shown on TV? At least on the Sci-Fi Channel, or, what has turned into the weekly Friday Night schlock-fest on AMC?

My Gods, I won't even deign to comment too much on those Sci-fi efforts they show on Saturday evenings; they are what they are. But damn...

...if they're going to pop in Xtro every now and then in the wee hours, why not THE HIDDEN?

And, it's not even like I CAN force myself to watch Pinata Island for the umpty-umpth time on AMC, but that other worn out collection of a half-dozen or so of the real bottom of the barrel B&W's you can count on seeing without even looking at TV listings most of the time...

*****AARRGGHH!!!!*****

Why...why not THE HIDDEN?

Please?

I've given up on AMC and will soon cut my cable because of how disappointing their presentations are. They do the following seven things to ruin a movie:

(1) low definition
(2) pan-and-scan
(3) overlaid with commercials for their original series
(4) sliced up with regular commercials
(5) terrible sound
(6) all the cuss words cut out
(7) the "AMC" logo at the lower right

I've figured out that for what I'm paying for cable, I can get a very good subscription to Netflix or Blockbuster, then I can watch the movies I want to see, when I want to see them.

That's a good question.

I wonder if it could have something to do with the AWESOME beginning and when he just walks into that store, pulls out a shotgun and starts blowing people away. So violent and dramatic that it almost comes across as too real for a general audience and that they'd have to butcher the beginning. Who knows?

That and I don't think there are many stars in it to market it on TV.

Total speculation.

I used to remember the Sci-Fi Channel when it was called Sci-Fi, not SyFy and they showed this classic all the time. Now, it's mostly made for cable films or whatever they throw out there to get a viewing pleasure. I can't remember the last time I watched anything on that network since they went in this direction.

Why..why...why don't you just download it, or buy the DVD?

*beep* i bet you could suck a golf ball through a garden hose

Like iconzero said; it's on DVD and that's better then seeing it on TV as it is uncut and has a few bonus features that are exclusive to the disk. I'd say, do with that.

I just caught it showing on 'Chiller" channel yesterday, which is why I am on IMDB looking it up now. 😊

Me, too. Though I first saw it on satellite sometime in the '88-'90 period. Really well-done little movie. Steve V

It actually played on the Sy Fy channel a few nights ago. I recorded it on my DVR because of course they didn't air it until after midnight. But nonetheless, they did show it on TV. I hadn't seen in a long time, so it was nice seeing it again even if it was on TV.

LOL - it's funny reading 12yr old posts.
So easy to download this movie now. Uncut in HD.

Yep, I own it on DVD, Blu-ray and digital. What a bunch of cry babies there were 12 years ago.

Shouldn't this type of question be asked in some television network's or whatnot's discussion forum, instead of, you know, a _MOVIE_ chat forum?

This forum is about the movies, not about the DISTRIBUTION or DISPLAY METHODS of the movies.

You can download a movie and watch it any time you want on your computer, you can buy a movie from a bargain bin or some internet auction site, stop talking about irrelevant things and concentrat on talking about the MOVIE, thank you very much.
