What is it that makes it so obviously British?

Even without some of the accents, the whole film "smells of England", and I can't place why?

I am not British but I am sure that I have seen the house in every other British film or tv series from the 70's or 80's and possibly even the 90's. It could not have been filmed in any other country but there.

That could be it, maybe I just subconsiously recognised the house!

The hospital had a floor marked G, which is very non-American haha
