Now That's a Horror Movie

Excellent story with great villains. Genuinely scary with unbelievable special effects. The laughable CGI just goes to show you the technology and budget these people were working with. The acting was not great but passable.

There were a few problems of course (the rotting corpse with maggots consuming it-nobody smelled that?) but overall this is a great old school horror movie.

I don't think there was any CGI, just some rotoscoped electricity.

CGI? You do realize that CGI wasn't something that could be used in a low-budget production in 1987, right? Hand-animated effects were used here, not CGI. The only CGI around back then was the opening credits to The Black Hole, the Genesis effect from Star Trek II, and the stained-glass knight from Young Sherlock Holmes...all major and costly efforts for their time. Hellraiser has no CGI at all.

I am not a fan. I just happen to enjoy movies. Fans are embarrassing.

I'm surprised you didn't mention Tron and the Last Starfighter.

reply

No, it's a 5/10 time killer. BTW, your review would hold a bit more weight if you had any idea of what you were talking about.

WORDS MEAN THINGS! Also, before you come to bitch about a plot hole, rewatch the show/movie.

Wow, you're a prick.

It really is a great film. It has a wonderful, creative story and excellent villains as you said. Clive Barker has a truly great imagination and this film is proof of that.
