why was sean chapmans entire dialog dubbed by another actor?

I guess they felt giving him an American accent would sound better, seeing as Julia is British and talks with a British accent in the movie. Plus its all set in America and I can imagine the British actors were slightly cheaper to hire than a more well known American actor so they just dubbed his voice :( .

Although almost everyone involved is British I have never felt it was set anywhere in Britain or europe though ( although lots if it presumably was) I always thought it was somewhere in the US , dudes like Steve don't exist in the UK, and Larry Is a yank so they can't have his brother speaking in an english accent. I just don't see what all these Americans would be doing in the UK, I certainly haven't seen anywhere in the UK that looked like what we saw in Hellraiser.

Yes I wondered about that too, and when they invite their friends over for dinner one of them says to Julie they are happy 'she's back' and they were all Americans too, smh very confusing, good spot with the power plant thought , I just thought it was any old power plant, I always just thought they were somewhere in the US like in hellraiser 3. Is the book specifically set in London or do they leave that a mystery too ?

The whole thing is really ridiculous. The dubbing is so bad.

It is clearly the UK, Larry even says "We're back on your turf" to Julia. I almost managed to justify it that they had moved to the UK but were part of the US expat scene - hence the Americans at the dinner party. The guys that Julia picks up are all British. The removal guy has a weird accent but you could let that one slip.

The problem though is the woman in the pet shop and the three folk who talk to Kirstie when she passes out. They are dubbed American! Why? If you are dubbing everyone like that then dub the British pick up guys and don't have the "We're back on your turf" line.

I suppose alternately if you imagine it is set in the US, they have moved to Long Island or somewhere maybe instead of Brooklyn and it is back on "your turf" as she used to live or work there. Then maybe she picks up the British guys through a British expat community of workers in NYC.

Was so distracting and clearly should have just been Frank, Larry and Kirstie speaking with American accents and everyone else British.
