Truth about Hell

You may think this is off topic but alot of movie discussions do go into what is true and what isnt about a film. Thats part of my reason for this post. I do
belive the Bible is true and discusses the truth about Hell which this movie does. Here are the facts about Hell from the Bible

1. Hell is real and eternal
Revelation 14:11-"And smoke of their torment ascends forever and ever; and they have no rest day or night, who worship the beast or his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name".

2. Hell is for sinners who break God's commandments not by opening a magic puzzle-box like in the movie-the truth is we all are sinners, everyone.
Romans 3:23-For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God
James 2:10- For whoever shall keep the whole law and yet stumble in one point, he is guilty of all
Revelation 21:8- "But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death".

Ok thats pretty scary stuff, even more frightning than any movie about Hell but let me show you some wonderful news that the Bible also provides us :)

3. Jesus Christ is the only one that save us from Hell-not closing a puzzle-box
and def not soul-trading deals with cenobites. Christ did this by paying for all our sin debt by dying a terrible death on the cross and rising from the dead
Romans 5:8-"But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us".
John 3:16-"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son,that whoever belives in Him should not perish but have everlasting life".
Romans 6:23- For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Ok how do we get our get of Hell card from Christ who paid for it by his very blood?

4. We ask Him with full faith
Romans 10:13-"Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved"
Luke 11:0- "For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him
who knocks it will open".

Ok if beleive in what the Bible says about Hell and that Jesus will save you if belive in Him and if you never invited Him, I strongly urge you now to say a prayer like this. Feel free to use your own words but please mean it with all
heart and mind

Dear Lord, I confess I am a sinner and can never deserve or earn Heaven. I do now belive that Jesus Christ paid for all my sin debt on the cross and rose from the dead. I do want to repent of my sinful ways and ask for forgiveness of all I did or ever will do to displease you. I ask for Christ to come into my heart and be my Lord and Savior forever. Thank you so much for your gift of eternal life. In your name, Amen!

If you said a prayer like that and put all your love and faith into that, then
I belive that you allowed Christ to save you from a Hell thats more horrible than any Hellrasier film (belive me you will lose the desire to see such movies)

Ok whats next

5. Contact a true Bible/Christ teaching church and tell them what you just prayed. They can help you grow in your new relationship with Christ

6. Love everyone and totally forgive anyone who sins against you as our Lord
has forgiven us

7. Babtism. A wonderful way of publicly expressing your commitment to Christ

8. Pray daily- Pray for other lost souls, confessing sins, praying for you
own concerns, praising God for all the good things he has/is doing in your life

9. Regular church attendance and bible reading. Along with prayer, are awesome
ways to keep your spirtual batteries charged up

10. Make strong efforts to avoid sin but when you fall then confess to the Lord and ask Him for strength to defeat your sin

If it should please and honor our Lord, I pray that the lost people on this board will come to know Him. May He bless and save you :)

"Neither height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to seperate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord".
Romans 8:39

Romans 6:23
John 10:27-29

Why do people come to a Hellraiser forum to preach religion? This alone shows how ass-backwards some folks are. "Oh look, a movie has "hell" in the title, I must preach the gospel! duh!"

Whose idea was it for the word LISP to have an S in it?

Wow, what's the point of that?

So God only loves us as long as we do what he wants? And if we don't, we never get a chance to learn or change, but are punished forever?

That's some seriously fecked up psycho parenting.

What about the people who don't get a chance to choose durig their lifetime? Do they get a free pass just for the (heh-heh) Hell of it? Or get chucked into Hell anyway as some kind of "too bad so sad" disregard? Or are they allowed to choose with the consequences now clear in front of them, while everyone else had to take it on some kind of faith? Any of those options is hardly fair.

The answer, of course, is that the "judgement" part of it all is part of the Old Testament schema, where God was vengeful, territorial, angry and partial to violence and destruction. It ignores the fact that Jesus made it plain he was offering "a new Covenant". In other words, all bets were off, and a new set of rules were now in place.

It's one of the flaws of modern Christianity (especially as practised in America) that it simply ignores a lot of what Jesus said, and cleaves instead to the barbarism of the Old Testament, and to would-be Old Testament thunderers like John of Patmos and career misanthropes like Saul of Tarsus. It's not a doctrine of love, as Jesus tried to promote, but a cynical celebration of egotism and finger-pointing. It betrays the mental illness and heightened schadenfreude that underlies formulated Christianity.

You might very well think that. I couldn't possibly comment.

What is the point of this thread? All you did was post bible verses and preach that this board should be going to church more often. That is the worst way to start a meaningful discussion on any topic.

Why is this movie sinful? Just because it has the word Hell in the title?

reply

That's all well and good, sure, but the movie is not about Hell, at least not the Judaeo-Christian belief of an actual place named "Hell". As in the book, The Hellbound Heart, the film presents the other world as a higher dimension where pleasure and pain are one and the same. The Cenobites (a millennia old word for monk) are guardians and caretakers of this higher dimension. The idea that it is "Hell" is more of a throw away euphemism. The confusion is due to the studio, as well as the general audience, taking the titles of both the film and book a little to literally.

reply

So to you, the bible, written by man over 2,000 years ago, is a book of fact.
Even with all of its contradictions.

Also, dude, this is just a movie. You shouldn't take a movie so literal.

reply

I'm sure the OP is just a troll. He didn't even bother to respond to any of the replies.

reply

This movie isn't the Biblical Hell, this is a completely different concept and vision of Hell.
