My friend tried to get me to watch this, and i couldn't even get past the first 10 minutes, it was so boring....is it worth it? thank you

Absolutely. There's a reason it's considered a classic. It depends on your own personal tastes but the slow build up is a huge part of its appeal.
What other horror films are you a fan of, as it may seem "slow" or "boring" in comparison to more modern films of its type,but I, personally, hate modern horror for its lack of depth and overly accelerated pace.

If you're expecting a dumbed down, horribly edited piece of crap like the Saw series, this will disappoint.
If you're willing to sit and follow well developed characters and watch a story unfold, then you'll love it.

I'm with Vulture. Not so long ago I never would've entertained the idea of watching these as I was so scared of Pinhead. Now I have a new found appreciation for well-made horror and this is a very good one. It does have a slightly slower build up than modern horror but it's all there for a reason. It's like a modern take on fairy tales - the wicked stepmother, the "bad fairy", in the form of Pinhead, etc.

I don't know what it is, I might be stuck in my ways but I can't get into a lot of new horror movies. It's like they're all directed by the same person. There isn't enough variety in styles these days.

Stick with it. It's one of the best horrors iv'e seen. Hope you enjoy it

Other than Frank being torn apart at the beginning, you have to wait a little bit before the "action" picks up. If I remember right, the first ten minutes is mostly Larry and Julia moving into the house.

Go back and finish watching it!!! You wont be disappointed because my first time watching this movie i thought the same way you did until I got about 20 minutes or so into the movie then i realized this is actually a good movie.

Movies in general probably aren't for you if you cut it off because you were bored with the first 10 minutes.

Yeah, stick with video games, kid. Your attention span can't handle a 90 minute movie so don't bother.

The movie isn't boring. It's very scary. What you need to do is keep watching it. It has terrifying scenes.
