How likely...

...would it be in real life for twin brothers like "Tweedle-Dee" and "Tweedle-Dum" to be stationed in the same military unit, much less sharing the same office and performing the exact same duty? Just curious...

No idea, but I'd enlist just to see that.

If they were in a front-line unit, brothers should never be stationed together. In a behind-the-lines unit like they were in, it's possible.

In the case of the film, they're in there for the comedy value of two goofy-looking twins deciding what gets on the air & what doesn't.

Interestingly the two brother have played both twins in movies and single characters in the same movie. Kind of like the Olsen twins in Full House. I wonder how they got paid?

I was in basic training with my twin brother. We caught hell with our DI's trying to guess which "twin" was theirs.

reply

That's funny. In training did you and your brother pull any jokes by impersonating the other?

I do not think that they would be stationed together but it is possible though depending on where they are at though. Cause when my father was stationed in Rota, Cadiz, Spain my dads brother went into the same field as my father and was sent to the same base as my dad. So it is quite possible though that they could have twins working together though but I am not sure though about it.

Unlikely if they were active duty, could be if they were Guard.

I have known several sets of brothers who served at the same base during peace time. Since the Sullivan brothers though they don't usually assign brothers to the same ship, battalion, etc if they are on the front lines. In Viet Nam that would have meant out in the boonies subject to being shot, booby-trapped, or otherwise being killed.
