From a friend of mine who was in Vietnam within the timeframe of this movie, the Bruno Kirby character (Lt. Steven Hauk) was actually modeled after Pat Sajak! He was also assigned to the radio station at the same time as Adrian Cronauer - just a little more trivia for the boards!

Interesting. I saw Pat Sajak on Celebrity Jeopardy last night and he mentioned that he was one of the guys saying Good Morning Viet Nam but did not mention the years he was there or that Adrian Cronauer was there the same time.
