Song identification?
I've been trying to find the haunting piano melody from the scene where Cronauer and Garlick are driving along the An Lac road and run over a land mine. Does anyone know the name of it?

'Cast Your Fate to the Wind' - Vince Guaraldi
The way that U wander is the way that U choose the day that U tarry is the day that U lose
Saw this movie for the first time tonight on HBO, heard CYFTTW (a favorite of mine from 1965), and checked the soundtrack listing here* - it's the Sounds Orchestral version that topped the charts at #10 back then, not the 1963 Grammy-winning jazz piano original by Vince Guaraldi, referenced by the YouTube link above.

To clarify: What was in the movie was the same song that was popular on the radio at the time. The Sounds Orchestral version.
And it *really* was a good choice for the scene as far as I was concerned, due to the name. They're in "indian country" now, and their fate is out of their hands.
It's too bad you didn't know the name when it was played, because for me, it was a great forshadowing device. When I heard it, I went "oh-oh".
