This movie is pretty cool. I particularly like how Robin Williams' character refuses to follow the party line and the soldiers love him for it.

Williams can be really annoying in some movies, but for some reason I found him very likable here. Good movie indeed.

I going to have to go ahead and disagree with you there. I regard this as one of the worst movies I've ever seen, mostly because Robin Williams is an unfunny douchebag, but that doesn't stop him from cracking one 'joke' after another while his castmates give him a cringeworthy obligitory laugh. This movie sucks balls.

Actually...it was not "obligatory", because Williams completely ad-libbed everything, so there were no laughs to make up according to the script.

This is still my favourite Robin Williams movie. He was born to play the role of Adrian Cronauer and deserved the accolades he received (including an academy award nomination). His improvisational skills at the microphone are stunning and it's a hoot seeing the other cast members genuinely breaking into laughter at his antics and the lines he comes up with. A really good movie with a fine supporting cast too.

They feed Mantovani to insomniacs who don't respond to strong drugs!

Robin Williams at his finest, I watched it again for the first time in years and still enjoyed the movie. A must see for any movie fan.

Very much agree. So sad that one who could bring so much laughter and happiness to so many, faced so many personal challenges himself. IMO...this film sees him at his very best and funniest.

I've liked this movie for a long time and just watched it again today, but I only really laughed out loud a couple times, I like Robin's character in this movie. Its not so much that he is ROTFL funny but its a warm story of comic relief in a bad situation.

I think this movie, and most of Robin William's work for me is more fun than funny. Something about him makes me smile.
