Platoon
It was an excellent narrative 10/10

Full Metal Jacket was great as well but it felt like two different movies after the great training parts
I did love the sniper in Hue finale

I enjoyed Platoon, but Full Metal Jacket had a much stronger emotional impact. Watching Platoon as a kid in my early 20s, I felt just like I did watching any war movie, but in FMJ which I saw a few months later, I felt like I was right there with Joker. It was the first war movie I ever saw that drove home exactly how brutal, dehumanizing and unpleasant war actually is.

I like FMJ better, but Platoon is a great movie too.

I just enjoy Kubrick's style more.

Movies aren't made for the sole purpose of being realistic. I don't know why people struggle over which film is more realistic...

Full Metal Jacket.. I don't like Platoon to be honest.. I find the good guy/bad guy/innocent guy too clichéd - like a simplistic B western from much earlier times.

FMJ. Platoon was far more mature and immersive. Platoon almost felt too fake after awhile.

Platoon. People only like Full Metal Jacket for the drill sergeant segment, they miss the entire point of the film.

Yes, thats the good part of Full Metal Jacket. However if I'm going to watch a Vietnam war movie, Ill go with Rambo 2 or any of the Missing in Action films with Chuck Norris. Full Metal Jacket and Platoon are just too slow moving

I find Platoon re-watchable. I enjoy FMJ for what it is... but honestly after the training bit the movie kind of falls apart for me.

That's the point, perhaps. I get it.. it's just hard to watch all the way through.

I PREFER FULL METAL JACKET OVER PLATOON,HOWEVER PLATOON IS THE BETTER FILM...HAD KUBRICK IRONED OUT A FEW FLAWS FULL METAL JACKET COULD HAVE BEEN THE BEST WAR FILM EVER.OH WELL.
