Gunnery Sergeant Hartman or VC sniper

Who do you think makes a better antagonist for the movie? I know, you guys are all gonna say Hartman due to him being more memorable and the sniper isn't confronted until the end of the film, but you gotta remember, the sniper was actually a pretty tough opponent and she even managed to take out several of Joker's squad.

Both.

Schrodinger's cat walks into a bar and doesn't.

reply

Glad you think so.

The sniper girl was badass. Hartman was annoying.

reply

The antagonist was the human conscience preventing Joker from becoming a heartless killer.

reply

neither, really.

sgt hartman was just doing his job. he sucked to deal with, but he was not a serious threat unless you continuously fucked up on occasion, and unless you think getting yelled at is a legit threat, because that's usually all he'd do. he was even encouraging on occasion. he really wasn't that corrupt, considering some drill instructors have been arrested for sexual assault, rape, racial hate crimes, and extreme physical violence. but hartman was not all that bad, other than the scene where he slaps joker.

the vietnamese girl i think was more of a summary of what america had done to vietnam. even children were being resorted to kill.

honestly i think pyle was the villain. he was the one causing 99% of the problems at boot camp, and he showed little remorse for doing so. and then at the end, he starts killing people.
