Major Hackett (*Spoiler*)

So what was Major Hacketts deal, cause when Sgt. McRose catches him in the act of betraying the team and stealing the accounting Documents he asks him how much he was in for and Hackett says something like $10million bucks. So was he stealing the documents to cover his own arse so nobody would know he had any dealings with Cash, or were the documents actually worth money to external buyers hence why he was stealing them?

I guess we'll never know then. But yeah its a great movie. I love the climatic gun fight at the end, but one thing that has been on my mind is Nick Nolte's "Jack Benteen". For a guy with balls of steel he sure does have poor posture he's always slouched, maybe he has some inner confidence issues. Well anyway its a great action movie.

Interesting thought, but I think he was just covering his ass, cuz he knew the guy who kept the books there. That made me think he wanted to destroy them.

As of 2006 I have been in the workforce working as an accountant and accounting documents really have no monetary worth. So I agree with you now that he was just trying to cover his arse.

I suppose its a matter of opinion but he wasn't exactly walking around with his chest puffed out and standing fully erect. His shoulders were kind of slouched forward not exactly a posture you'd expect from a guy like Benteen.

Actually, it maybe that Nolte was slouching as part of his character. He modeled Benteen after a real Texas Ranger.
