More Rip Torn

The best part of the film was the interaction between Nolte's character and Rip Torn's character. Their banter was fun to listen to. Too bad about what happened to him. They could have easily made another movie just on those two alone.

A whole film could be made about Sheriff Hank Pearson.

I love this character. I found his persona and attitude close to Duke Wayne. Pearson is a real Texas lawman who says what he mean, mean what he says and cover the ground he stand on. I also love the fact that he dies with "his boots on" and saves his last breaths for shooting his enemies. He's a true Milius character !

My favourite line of his would be this one :

PEARSON : Too late for the tough guy act, amigo. You had your chance !

"Rule of nature, like water seeks the path of least resistance. So you get crooked rivers, crooked men"

He is great in this. Bingo!

Rip left the movie way too early. And I gotta agree on the politician/child molester line. Biggest laugh of the whole flick for me. Rip's delivery was brilliant.
