Poncho
In the Raft, how come Deke kept calling Randy Poncho?
shareMaybe some kind of insult for Randy being a wet blanket? Like never relaxing and having fun or something.

Its an illusion to the cisco kid, which was also referenced in the previous story.
shareIn the original short story by Stephen King, Randy and Deke refer to each other as Poncho and Cisco. This is a reference to the old Cisco Kid programs. They carried this over to the movie and link it to Chief Wooden Head through the the program that Rich Boys parents are watching in that segment.

It's just a simple Hero/sidekick combo. Deke was the cool, popular, good looking, athlete, and Randy was his smaller, nerdier friend. They could've used something like Batman and Robin, but that would be weird to actually use as a nickname.
