I loved this sequel
Usually, I am pretty dissapointed in sequels, but I love this one. I thought it was exciting and as funny as the first one.
Too bad other people didn't think so.

I actually liked this one much more than the first. I'm interested in seeing the third, which I didn't know existed until today.
shareDon't get your hopes up Machete, the 3rd one is a bit of a stinker.
shareThe first film and the third films were enjoyable.
The second film was weak in a number of places but was very good when they took the film to Australia.
I also really liked the second one more than the first and third. There were a lot of funny scenes in this one that I still crack up every time.

When you see the third, well just remember , we know all about Dundee now so it will never be as fresh, try to view it without exspecting to much that is often the trouble with sequals , if this had been the very first one it would have been great, so if you like Hogan I'm sure you will like the movie, I found I enjoy it more as time goes on, g-day Mate.
share*SPOILERS!!!*
Crocodile Dundee 2 is a fantastic sequel! For one thing it's a lot different in style, being much more of an action film than the original. The first Croc Dundee was more of an adventure/comedy whereas this movie is an action comedy. This makes a nice change and helps keep things fresh. Of course the action film genre is very crowded, especially back in the 80's so this could have been a bad thing had they made it an average action film but it's very well made with some great moments that help it stand out. The ending scene with the clothes switch is a prime example of this as it is very suspenceful and wonderfully done, working superbly with the music. It's a shame they made it so obvious that they had switched clothes though (with the whole "take your pants off" scene with Mick and Rico) as it would have been even better had we actually believed Mick had been killed!
Even though the style had changed they still kept a lot of what had worked in the original such as the humour. Also, more importantly (in my opinion) they kept the idea of splitting the film pretty much in half between the two primary locations from the original - Australia and New York, though swapped over; New York to Australia rather than Australia to New York.
Also it's so much fun watching Mick doing what he is so good at, namely traversing the outback like the native he is and running rings around the bad guys, slowly picking them off one at a time. And it all builds up to that fab ending! Great stuff.

I may be a tiny chimney-sweep but I've got an enormous brush.
i really can't say which one i like best. becouse i honestly can't tear them apart.
these two movies (croc 1+2) were made around the same time (mid-80's), and i've seen both of them since i was a kid,
so i got scenes and stuff from 1 and 2 mixed up, and i kind of view the two as the same movie.
i think i've always kept in mind that the 2nd has gangsters in it though.
then came "Crocodile Dundee 3" in 2001.
here i am,
there's been some ugly bumps in the road,
but i'll keep on going, for as long as me and this old rusty car can go,
i'm fighting battles, like so many times in the past,
on diffrent issues in diffrent times, and i begin to wonder why, and how long it will last,
i've taken some hits, and i've had my share of falls,
but i'll keep on going, for as long as me and this old rusty car can go,
i've lost some glow, and i've lost some spark and light,
i've grown tired and old, but i'm still fighting for what's right,
i got scars and i move slow, but my hand still got a good grip,
i've seen alote of people by my side fall, but i'm still here taking the blows,
and i'll just keep on going, for as long as me and this old rusty car can go,
if our roads should ever cross, on these battles and wars,
don't ask me what's in my load, and i won't ask what's in yours,
let's just hope and pray,
that we will all have peace and love someday.
Remember, Rico was Hispanic and (unfortunate stereotype here) very macho. So when Dundee told Rico to "take your pants off", I saw it as a way of keeping Rico under control.
At least, it's my assumption that a macho man like Rico wasn't too likely to risk the embarassment of being seen dashing around in his skivvies. The idea of changing outfits never occurred to me -- and not just because Dundee himself would have been vulnerable while undressing/dressing.
Yes the sequel to this movie is great. But I have to say the third one stinks. Its funny how they are starting off in New York where they left off in the first one and return home. You get to see more of his outdoor wildlife tricks and knowlege.
shareI liked it pretty well. But I saw it on Friday night, May 27, 1988, and thus today is its 20th anniversary for me. I had seen the original in this theater in May, 1987, and then wanted to see this one, as well as Rambo III which also opened this weekend, and decided to see them in this theater (our local one) on back to back nights this Friday and Saturday (see posting on Rambo III). And while I did like the experience of seeing these two big movies on back to back weekend nights in a crowded theater, I did not like this one as much as the original-though it was allright, and had some pretty good and funny scenes.
