"up the long ladder" racist

and as an Irish man i have to say, its probably the most racist thing ive ever seen. the crew goes off and finds a human colony out it space. like a billion lighter years from anything, and the colonist are all Irish. like over the top totally stereotypical Irish, seems all they care about is 1. drink. 2. their farm animals. 3. breeding and of course 4. the Drink. its is shockingly racist, stereotypical and it would be offence if it was, say, the black community. but its the Irish so i thought it was hilarious. it was so racist it was funny, its such a dumb episode, and every one is having fun doing very poor Irish ascents. also Riker bags the main feek in seconds of the "micks landing" classic Rikstar

Oh boy, if that's how you feel with this, wait until you get to Voyager's two "Irish" episodes, "Fair Haven" and "Spirit Folk", you'll have a meltdown!

reply

Oh, ya thought it was a wee bit racist, did ya?

reply

Oh yeah, every offensive stereotype anout the Irish put right out there!

What the fucking fuck were they thinking.

reply

My original sentence wasn't quite as lyrical as the Irish might have put it. It should have read: Oh, ya found it a wee bit racist, did ya?

reply

I've been told that the modern Irish are more likely to say "It's fookin' racist, you fooking fooker!".

I really need to go, and find out for myself.

reply

Top of the morning to ya!

Would ye be wanting your drive tarmacked?

Can I park me caravan on your lawn?

I don't remember the whole episode, but wasn't the other colony they were going to merge with also Irish? That colony was sophisticated.

reply

Yeah, a sophisticated colony with such a small gene pool that they had to resort to cloning to increase their population, as I recall. The union with the Irish would've been (probably was) perfect.

reply

I think it was just what they needed to loosen things up on that colony!

When you say you're Irish, do you mean you're actually Irish or do you mean you're one of those Americans who once stood next to something green.

reply

When you say 'Irish', do you mean people that :

- Do not know what punctuation is
- Do not understand language enough to begin a sentence with a capital letter
- Do not understand how to actually write a legible sentence
- Do not know how to construct a coherent thought

You have written over thousand posts, and that's over thousand posts I hope I will NEVER see..

reply

People do not care about presenting themselves as educated because most of them are not.

When confronted with errors like you enumerate, they say, “You know what I mean.”

The correct reply is, “You don’t know what you mean, so how the hell can I?”

The internet does not value literacy, education nor intelligence.
