Is "Q"the most powerful character in tv/movie/comic/video game history?

i'm trying to think of characters who could beat "Q" in a fight 1 vs 1 but so far it seems he would beat them all. my list off the top of my head are, (i seriously only took 5 minutes to think on this):

Superman
Hulk
James Bond
The Great Gazoo (The Flintstones)
Jeannie (I Dream of Jeannie tv show)
Darth Sidious (most powerful Star Wars character)
Mario (Nintendo Mario games)
Pinhead
Freddy Kruger
Jason Voorhees
Mr. T
Jesus
God

i think The Great Gazoo has a good chance. he's pretty damn powerful. God is strong to. actually God could possibly win for sure

can you think of anyone who can beat "Q"?

Q would beat everyone, because he's godlike. He can just think you out of existence.

What about Kevin, the Doud?
He was the bomb. Certainly as powerful as Q, just less ostentatious.
I'd like to have Kevin as a friend. Q not so much.

I don't remember any of them.😕
Kevin must have been cooler!😀

She deleted 33,000 e-mails AFTER congress' subpoena for them !

reply

Trelane from Squire Of Gothos was quite a character in many ways he served as a template for De Lancie's Q.

reply

They were both naughty boys at heart.

wasn't that mirror Kirk smashed where he got his weakness or is that a different episode?

Yes that was in that same episode where Kirk challenges Trelane into a duel.

I'm sure Q would just look down on Superman and call him micro-brain as he did with Worf.

Being a bit of a subversive he would just 'think' Superman into a Kryptonite bubble bath.

He would laugh at the cape and the outfit,or he would like the idea of the cape and would wear one himself every time he makes an appearance.

I'll bet Lex luthor would buy gallons of that stuff.

reply

Mind you if Q was caught unawares and Superman got just one good punch in....

I'll have to answer your post on Enterprise tomorrow as we're caught up in two threads. From what I've read B&B were not the baddies after all.

reply

No they were not I posted the whole interview on one or two Trek boards a while ago it's very interesting that things with the management changed around 2000 so much. Before that the producers of the Trek series basically had carte blanche and Braga kind of mentions this in the interview that the suits resented the producers of Trek for that. Also they had a total overhaul with the writers staff halfway through so these people had to find their way with the stories.Like I said considering all this stuff it's actually amazing that there was quality stuff on the screen at all.
And to be honest I always felt that after TNG Trek lost a bit of it's appeal and had strayed too far from what TOS was about (which got me into Trek in the first place)and lost interest after watching three seasons of DS9 of VOY and lost sight completely of Trek for at least five years(after seeing INS in the cinema).I kind of missed the first two seasons of ENT (although some people who weren't Trek fans said it was quite good) and came in with the final part of season 2 and got me hooked on Trek again.

reply

i've seen Enterprise multiple times. i love that show. should have gotten 7 seasons

Not that Kevin Uxbridge would want to defeat Q, though...

Oops, I kinda sorta maybe gave a slight spoiler.

You'll love the ep though. Even if not right away, you'll love it eventually.

You'll never forget... Kevin Uxbridge.

reply

Why wouldn't he love it right away? It's great.

As someone else mentioned above the Organians from the original Star Trek series in the episode "Errand of Mercy" seem to have the same power. They didn't even have bodies anymore, they were pure energy and did as they wished by thought.

Spock remarked that the Organians were as far ahead of us on the evolutionary scale as we (humans/Vulcans) are above the amoeba.

Was ist der Sinn des Lebens?

reply

Nice budgie.

reply

i remember that episode. it seems like the "Q" are most powerful in the universe on TNG but yet the Organians seem to be just as powerful. perhaps the "Q" are still stronger though

Ben-Hur2016 10/10 BvS Ultimate Edition10/10 Suicide Squad 9/10 Terminator Genisys9/10

reply

The main difference is that the Q intervene with other cultures ,the Organians found that rather distasteful and would rather not intervene at all.

reply

I can't wait for Kurt to get to the Kevin Uxbridge ep.

Kevin Ux found there's no good way to intervene with another culture.

Actually, Kevin Ux is a good example of "absolute power corrupts absolutely".

And he's not proud of himself for it. And has self-banished himself for it, as well.

To Kurt's Q: it seems only one has the power to create, though? I don't rem Q ever creating life... and it's obvious Kevin can't undo what he did.

In that regard, maybe the most powerful is not just the one who can destroy... but also has the power to create to begin with?

reply

Plus Q had the power to manipulate time and show alternate realities(see episode Tapestry).

reply

Q is the most powerful for sure.

Movie Theater: Young Frankenstein 10/10. RIP Gene Wilder. One of the funniest people of all time.

reply

are all "Q's" equal in power or are some stronger than others?

Ben-Hur2016 10/10 BvS Ultimate Edition10/10 Suicide Squad 9/10 Terminator Genisys9/10

reply

While this answer isn't exactly what you asked, what you do learn later on is that...

"Q" is kind of a mental midget.

In that sense at minimum, some are most certainly stronger than others.

reply

i'm on season 1 episode 20. i can't wait to see this Kevin Uxbridge guy

do "Q's" give birth? how are they created?

reply

care to explain... Irish...

wow, you're touching yourself already!!!

reply

Can't say I rem an exact quote, but pretty sure Q found human's naughtiness disgusting and repulsive...

Basically, Q was OCD before we had a term for it...

reply

I think he did not like coitus. He mentioned he thought it was gross. I remember that as well, Toly.

Movie Theater: Young Frankenstein 10/10. RIP Gene Wilder. One of the funniest people of all time.

reply

Why is 'Beyonder' not on the list? He's the most Omnipotent Being I have ever seen in comics, Q is actually just 'partially omnipotent', as he's part of a continuum with OTHER 'Q's.

Beyonder can basically do 'anything' (except read people's minds, or understand things, especially explanations, predict future or see what his actions will cause, create happiness in himself or understand his own feelings, etc. etc..), Q has limitations (especially imposed by other 'Q's or the continuum).

Other entities can take Q's power away, but not even Eternity itself can take Beyonder's power away. Heck, Beyonder even eliminated DEATH completely! (So even Q couldn't kill anyone)

God is not a character, it's more like a religion-tainted word referring to the Great Spirit, and thus has nothing to do with comics, TV shows or other fiction, and should be excluded. However, as the only truly Omipotent Being, He is BEYOND (no pun intended) any need / urge to WIN anything, as conflict would not exist - unless it was His will.

reply

Rey Skywalker would make mince meat of that list!
