Were hairy chests hot in the 80's?

Cuz joey seems to flash his hairy chest off in every other scene. Lol its quite offputting in what is an otherwise cute show. Been watching this with my mom and we've been laughing at the 80's dress styles.

I don't know what you mean by this. I mean, if a man has a hairy chest, he has a hairy chest. I don't understand why so many men nowadays feel the need to shave. Kinda weird.

reply

I agree. It's really extremely metro. But then again, I think girls want pretty boys who are like shaved monkeys.

Go away, or I shall taunt you a second time!

reply

yeah, i think some people in the 80's did think it was attractive :P

and to the MALE, posters, women generally do NOT find really hairy chests attractive. at all. in fact, it can be a MAJOR turn off for some people. so I would assume that's probably why so many men "these days" feel the need to shave.

reply

Well actually, hairy chests are more in fashion now than they were in the 80s. In the 80s/early 90s the general look for a lot of men was the smooth ken doll look. Granted there were plenty of exceptions, I'm just speaking generally. It wasn't until the late 90/early 2000s that the more rugged look started to come back in. Yes, there are plenty of men that manscape, but a lot of actors are sporting untrimmed or only mildly trimmed chests. It's like facial hair. It was really popular in the 70s and early 80s, and then it went out of fashion for the most part. Now, every other guy I see has a beard.

reply

Oh Hell No.

Hairy chests were on their way out as soon as the disco era started to wane in the late 70s. It died just as fast as Bell Bottom pants.

That's not true.

Obviously it's a matter of personal taste. Hairy chests can be hot!

In the 80s women liked their men to be men, not the emasculated Ken dolls that they want them to be now.

reply

They still do. They just won't tell you that ( actions> words) or they are still "girls" and don't really know about that stuff.

reply

Women who want their men shaved are closet lesbians. Or lady pedos.

I hope hairy chests were NOT hot in any era. The only place I'd want my man to have hair is on his head.

reply

Only place???

None anywhere else???

reply

Well, especially not his chest and face. I can live with it everywhere else. But I hate chest hair and not all men can pull off a beard. In fact, I think MOST can't.

They have those men, they're called pre-pubescent boys or women.

reply

Advice to men - shave it all off. Take it from me, modern women hate chest hair.

reply

No, YOU hate chest hair.

If the did, they're doing a piss poor job of showing it, by sleeping with me.
(I'm actually not that hairy)

If you like your men to look like boys or women, you might wanna think about changing up your dating pool.

We're going to laugh at your styles. Smooth chests are as normal as hairy ones. Only queers shave their chests.

reply

Yes. Chest hair was so "the thing" in the 80's.
