The way Ed O'Neill did that was very good. Everything he brought to that character made Al Bundy memorable.

Anyone see the new Big Bang Episode, The Earworm Reverberation? (s9, e10)

As soon as Sheldon got the song stuck in his head, I couldn't help but think about this MWC episode. Sheldon calls the Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame to identify the song, similar to how Al called the radio station. The episodes part ways after that point, but I have to think the BBT storyline was at least partly inspired by the MWC episode.

Love this episode!
The scene where he says [to God] "All I wanted was a 45, a stinkin' 45! The record or the gun! I'd even settle for the damn malt liquor!
Just once, can't you show you can love even Al Bundy?!" was epic.

I'd say this cloud is Cumulo Nimbus.
Didn't he discover America?
Penfold, shush.

I just found out that the idea for this episode came from the show's creator Michael Moye. And when I first saw the episode, I thought they never said the title as a joke to the audience, so they would be wondering what it was. But I found out later Al did say the title.

The song was called "Anna (Go to Him)" by Arthur Alexander.

Yeah, now I know what the song is and by whom. I just thought at the time I first saw the episode that it really didn't exist and we weren't told the title. I had missed Al mentioning the name.
