his diary.
Then the following dialogue...
Peg - "Oh Al, isn't it a dream"
Al - "Yeah, it had better be"
We all know what happened later on in that season.
Though it wasn't planned to be (since Katey Segal losing her child is why the created the sequence) it did indeed end up that way. Good catch.

The show should've never turned the pregnancy into such a negative storyline. I know this sounds crazy, but I believe that jinxing is a thing. When something good happens or is about to happen, say your congratulations and be done with it. After that, shut up.
