I haven't seen this show in years, does anybody know why he hates her so much?

Marcie is a feminist and is pretty much against anything Al likes.

I think Al also makes fun of her short "dyke" like hairdo.

He also makes fun of her man like body and the way she dressed. It is funny when they did the episode where the actress played her own sister. Al loved the sister because even though she was a lesbian she was into the stuff Al was into.

Originally it was planned that Al and Marcie would be friends and team up against Steve. However, Ed O'Neill & Amanda Bearse actually took a dislike to each other, and it came across on camera. So the producers decided to go with it and make them hate each other.
