Anyone know why on IMDB it says that Ed and Katey were both in 263 episodes but I've just watched at least five episodes in a row (season 10) where Peggy has yet to make an appearance...weird

It's a much easier watch, without her, in my opinion.
Don't get me wrong. I have nothing against the actress. I find the character infuriating. Episode after episode Peg is to blame for pretty much everything. And the kids, Marcy and everyone else remain blind to it and always blame Al.
Peg is a hideously selfish character. And not even in a funny or 'likable' way, like Al, Kelly and Bud are.
Her character always makes me angry.
(I know it could be said that it's a credit to the actress that she provokes such a strong reaction.)
It might have been better if the series showed some self-awareness as to how infuriating Peg was, by having characters (other than Al) mention her behaviour. or have Al show a backbone instead of always being down-trodden and pathetic.
Anyway, I hate Peg. It's almost as if her character was an advert for domestic violence.

I agree. I always wondered how Marcy could have been friends with Peg when Peg did nothing with her life and was totally dependent on a man--everything Marcy despised.
