shareHe wasn't gay, as he was always looking at women, looking at porn etc. BUT shutting out his curvy sexy wife hating the idea of sex with her and actually thinking she was ugly and unattractive was incredible! I remember a line where he asks peg to take off her clothes. Then as she gets all excited about the prospect he says he needs to see something to spoil his appetite. WOW what a moron. He considers that she ruined his life when he could be having it all. She would have likely done more for him if he wasn't such a jerk

I thought it was clear he didn't want her because he'd done it with her so many times he was tired of it. Sex had become a chore that's really difficult to do if you have no interest in doing it.
But then the show often makes the point that his sexual interest in her was due to her treatment of him during the rest of the day. She really didn't mind giving him the shaft if it benefited her. In the episode where she lost her memory and Al reprogrammed her to be a perfect housewife, he really got excited by her when she was doing all she could to make his life better.

Peg DID treat Al like crap - no matter how hot someone is, you don't want to have anything to do with them if all they're going to do is order you around and insult you all the time.

sure Peg at times could annoy him but is it not every man's dream to have his wife actually want sex and come on to him instead of hi how was your day..Besides she looked soooo good. Coming home to her in her lingerie and wanting it so bad would really have had me going for sure!
shareAl's problem was he didn't see what he had, he was unhappy with his life and thought of Peg as the reason he never achieved those things. Thusly even though she was always hot for him and wanted him, he by contrast was unhappy with her, felt trapped and fantasized about being with women who were out of his league.
They were also together for lets say 17 years (can't recall how old Kelly was supposed to be when the show started, I'm thinking 15 - 17) when you're with someone that long, sometimes the sex can get very boring or repetitive.
The episode when Peg had those sexy pictures taken of her and was on that bulletin at the mall where Al worked at, he would get jealous when other men ogled them but Al deep down was jealous when other men admired his wife.

shareCome on now, what a silly question to ask. Al was about as "gay" as Hugh Hefner. He regularly fantasized about playmates and other model type women who were half his age. He didn't wanna bang Peg simply because she was his wife, which in his eyes made her boring and common.

Marriage for him is a drag, so he is sick of his wife and his whole life.
It was more to do with her behavior and personality. When she got amnesia Al molded Peggy into a Stepford wife. Once she started cooking he got turned on and wanted to take her to bed.
