Did anyone besides me hate all the possible spin-offs here?

The only one I can think of by name is "Top of the Heap", with Matt LeBlanc and Joseph Bologna. There were two others, one that was suppose to be located at Bud's college and their radio station. The other one I remember was about a group of friends coming into contact with Kelly and her date.

These spin-offs were just so terrible. Matt is thanking his lucky stars that his never worked out and "Friends" opened up for him. Some of these had quality actors on them, but the story lines and jokes were just so bad or misplaced. do we blame the writers, producers, executive producers, and directors for these awful attempts at humor in the Bundy fashion?

There are MwC spinoffs ?

Apparently they have been so unsuccessful they vanished without a trace, because I havent heard of that before this point, ever.

I remember reading rumors that David Faustino and Christina Applegate planned on starting a new Bundy show, with Bud (Faustino) being married and Kelly (Applegate) also somehow in the mix.

I dont know how well that would work because Faustino is very short and certain things would have to be very different. Its not believable that Bud would beat up people like Al (Ed Neil) did in his time, since Al is of average statue.

I can't tell you where I saw it or heard about it, but there was something about the Bundy kids could not have a spin off. I wish I could offer some proof on that.

It wasn't a spinoff but I think the show was trying to branch out to see if they could make a spinoff. Matt LeBlanc had already been seen in one episode where Kelly had her own modeling show on public access. Later, the "Spinoff" episode didn't have any of the Bundy's in it. It was just LeBlanc as a kid names Vinny and his dad who lived in a run down apartment and seemed to be even poorer than the Bundy's. Vinny was an amateur boxer and his dad wanted him to find a rich "sugar Momma" so they crashed some sort of rich people party and non-hilarious hilarity ensued. It was kinda lame and it didn't catch on.

No, the order of that was this: Vinny and his dad appear in an episode where Al is trying to find out the name of a song he loved (Anna). Then they did an episode that was supposed to set up the spin-off for Top of the Heap. The spin-off was not successful. Vinny then appeared the next season in the episode where Kelly gets that public access show, which was part of Al's dream. Then they tried to revamp Top of the Heap with Vinny being with a friend now in the same apt. The show was called Vinny and Bobby. Didn't last long either.

They had a little mini reunion show that David put up on his website. The show was about them making a reunion show. Was actually pretty funny.

I didn't really have a problem with the spinoffs, although I was never a fan of Matt Leblanc as Vinny. I think the network was trying to get some spinoffs out of some of the top writers on the show and besides the two versions of Leblanc's spinoff, you had Radio Free Trumaine and Enemies. The latter did have some funny moments, like Al mentioning at the end about seeing Jennifer Aniston isn't wearing a bra if you mute the sound and watch with binoculars. I cracked up hard over that line the first time I heard it. However, I don't see what else the spinoffs could've done. There was another attempted spinoff of No Maam that was pitched to Fox by Michael Moye, but Fox *beep* didn't want it because of PC BS.

Married w/ Kids were always taking shots at other networks and TV shows, I think they started to lose favor with FOX when they threw a couple of zingers at FOX programming.

They started to lose me when they started to be overly sympathetic to the characters. I guess there is a little PC in us all, because they were trying so hard to make everything the Bundys did acceptable no matter how gross or offensive.

The best spin off proposal that I saw on the old IMDb boards was Kelly living in a trailer that she inherited from Grandma Wanker in Wanker County (WI). Bud was a barfly/ Walmart Associate that lived in the nearby town to Kelly. Stories would have included Bud's schemes to travel back to Chicago to make it big and fail. Kelly has kids that are actually smart that outwit both Bud and Kelly. Wanker extended family shows up at the trailer from time to time. Bud loses his apartment in Wankerville from time to time and rides his budget store lawn mower to the trailer and his job at Walmart.
