When did Joey get a pilots license?

Season 4's The Wedding pt 1. Joey is flying the plane for Jesse who is going to sky dive. When did Joey get his license? Why doesn't he fly planes for a living rather than telling knock knock jokes at the retirement home?

Probably right around the time he got his teaching license which was whenever it was needed to drive the plot forward.
