how to discover their use?

This is the episode about the bee hive that can transport the life force if someone wants to become a new person. They begin a new life with a new body but must kill their replacement and are dependent on continually purchasing the expensive tainted honey to maintain their appearance making their benefactor rich.

Intriguing story keeps your interest and most of the time I can make guesses of how the newly purchased cursed objects are to be used to create their evil but appealing results. But in this case, I cannot come up with how the new bee keeper figured out how to use his object. And so the only option left is that either Uncle Lewis told him at time of purchase or the devil himself plants the thoughts into the new owner's head?

Most likely there are other cursed objects that would be equally as hard to discover their evil use but this was the one I thought of after just watching it.
