OK so Whitley was supposed to be this young woman but I always thought she looked way older than she was. Like when she was 23/24 she looked like a woman in her mid 30's. As a matter of fact they all looked old for their age

Not old but mature. We're so use to seeing 20-somethings looking like teenagers nowadays that we forget that people "looked" and dressed mature for their ages compared to now.

Nah she looked old in the face. It didn't really have anything to do with her clothing. Her face didn't look youthful. And though the show was on for I believe 5/6 years all of them aged quickly.Freddie and kim looked old after 2 years being there too

Well, obviously Jasmine Guy didn't age that well but I never thought of Whitley as looking old. Kimberly looked young but tired and stressed at times which was normal but the only character on there that looked old to me was Mr. Gaines.

Yeah Jasmine didn't age well at all lol I feel bad for her

I don't think Jasmine Guy looked old at all on this show. She definately looked 25 (her age season 1) to about 30 (her age season 6). I think each season she looked her age, someone in their mid-late 20s. I thought she could pass for someone in their early 20s. I don't think that was far fetched at all. All of them looked their actual age or maybe a little younger.

I know right you don't need a lot of make up or to dress skimpy to look older. I liked the way Whitney dressed on the show she was very mature for her age.

In real life I believe Jasmine has lupus so that is why she kind of look old.

I read that Jasmine Guy doesn't have lupus after all. Maybe she has some other skin issues or just aged harshly.

A lot of the actors were older than the characters they portrayed. Jasmine Guy was born in 1962 and Darryl Bell was born in 1963. The only actor that was basically the same age as their character was Cree Summers.

I noticed that the other day. It was the episode where Dwayne decides to teach at Hillman Rd ather than work for Kinichiwa Electronics and Whitley looked a little harsh/tired.

Whitley didn't look old at all. Jasmine Guy was 25 when the show first aired; so even if her character was in her 20s, that isn't at all far-fetched; as there are plenty of older college students.
