Does this movie make sense?

Besides, the REALLY stupid title - did they truly, really have to name it 'THE Transformers:THE Movie'? Even youtube reactors don't get this name right, they write it as 'The Transformers movie' or 'Transformers: The Movie' (This would make more sense to me).

But 'The Transformers: The Movie' just sounds so incredibly stupid, and the 'THEs' are unnecessarily numerous.

What I wonder about, though, is the point of the 'Matrix of Leadership' (funnily, Optimus says he will be 'ONE' with 'The Matrix' - I wonder if watchowski BROTHERS (emphasis mine) got some ideas here)?

I mean, it doesn't keep you alive or heal you. It doesn't help you defeat another robot. It doesn't up your stats, give you more power, shield you, warn you, anything. So why this epic 'power song' at one point, when Optimus died like a female dog DESPITE all this 'power'?

The junkyard robots can repair robots, but not heal Optimus Prime?

The Matrix of Leadership has all this POWER, but can't heal Optimus Prime?

They are ROBOTS, how can they die? I mean, if you fix their metallic body, shouldn't the AI run just fine in it? It's so hard to think these things are 'living souls inhabiting metal bodies', but even then, couldn't the soul just re-incarnate into the metallic body the same way it did originally, after it has been repaired?

I guess this is the kind of problems you run into when you make decisions about movie storylines based on CORPORATE AGENDA instead of 'a good story'.

I mean, there must be a zillion ways for Optimus Prime to not die - after all, if Unicron can reincarnate Megatron into what was it, Galvatron? Then shouldn't something else be able to do the same to Optimus Prime, but maybe without changing him that much?

Isn't there a 'good side equivalent to Unicron', or is he .. unique? (pun intended)

My point is, this movie doesn't seem to make any sense, and it feels so much like corporate committee instead of a creative writer, despite the glorious 1980s music by one of the biggest geniuses in the business (Vince Dicola is about on the same level as Harold Faltermeyer - I abso-friggin-lutely love both creative genius's music, it's SO good with those juicy, delicious synths that make me literally DROOL when I even just think about them (I am not exaggerating, my mouth is actually generating extra saliva as I type this, honestly!))..

..the original song was also butchered beyond recognition.

Also, I realize the 'One must fall blah' is 'cool', but it doesn't make sense, either. I get that one must FALL, because it's the same as 'fight to death' (sort of), but must one really STAND? Can't he ever sit? What if both kill each other, wouldn't the goal still be accomplished there? Why must one STAND?!

That part makes no sense. Not that almost anything in this movie does, anyway..

By the way.. FEMALE ROBOTS?! WHY?! These things do not REPRODUCE BIOLOGICALLY, there is NO NEED FOR GENDER, I never thought the 'male robots' were ACTUALLY MALE in any way, they don't have reproductive organs! What the heck makes them male, except the fact they used 'male voices'?

MAKES NO SENSE!!

But feminists win everywhere, it seems.. there's no safe space anywhere, even in .. you know.. SPACE (cartoons).

I could also sort of nitpick about the soundworld and all - if a planet-size planet-eater eats a planet, it shouldn't make any sound in space, but if it's gonna make sound, THERE IS NO WAY the sounds would be 'our world's typical sounds', because the SCALE IS SO DIFFERENT. It would NOT sound like an industrial machine, and those 'teeth' couldn't crunch so INCREDIBLY FAST due to inertia and slowness of mass.

When you increase the scale, you slow the speed anything can go from resting position to motion, and the greater the speed, the longer this takes. Something of THIS scale could NEVER MOVE THAT FAST back and forth!

It could move that fast in one direction ONCE the inertia requirements are met, and enough time is allotted so it can accelerate to that speed, but.. sigh.

Also, the sounds are SO feeble and thin considering what's going on. Events of this scale sound sound MASSIVE AND BOOMING, because _EVERYTHING_ is enormously huge beyond human understanding (almost), they're not 'normal things being crunched in a normal factory', they're bits and pieces of massive-size PLANETS being crunched by things that are PLANET-SIZE, for crying out loud.

Well, this might be a nitpick, but it really takes me out of what's happening when the sound doesn't match what I am supposedly seeing on the screen, and brings the scale down to 'normal level' from the massive, epic scale depicted.
