Ever coming to Blu Ray?

Would love an American Blu Ray!

Sometimes if you look on ebay you can catch it or on amazon. Though last time I looked they wanted 300 bucks for it on blu ray.. guess will wait for another release. I just torrented it recently.

The Blu-Ray version isn't a proper HD release anyway, it's just an upscaled version of the UK Transformers The Movie - Special Edition (2007)

The copy is exactly the same, some parts look better than others, but still not true HD.

The truth is usually just an excuse for a lack of imagination - Elim Garak "Improbable Cause"

my guess is that they wouldn't properly remaster it and it would end up like Secret of Nimh and other animated movies....where there's hardly a difference. but i admit, the collecting "nerd" in me would like it just to have it and say its on blu. lol

And in 3D! That would be awesome!

reply

My friend has an LG 3D TV that makes any movie "3D." I've actually seen a blu ray version of this film in this format.

There's also the Australian release.

The War has only begun, will you defend your destiny?

reply

The Australian release is worth the $30 including shipping. Great bright transfer, all extras intact. The sound and picture are great. yes, there is 35 mm white specs like we see on a lot of 80's cartoon films; however removing this would be an expensive process and may mess too much with the image.

A 4K bluray with 3D and 2D versions with all new special features for the 30th anniversary in 2016 just after a theatrical rerelease would be perfect.

There's a BR coming out in America later this year, FINALLY

I just hope they don't have the awful "corrected" colors like the 20th DVD had. I can't even watch that version. Pink Hot Rod? NO! He was never that color on the screen, only on a prototype of the toy.

Agreed. I'm glad I kept the original dvd release. The 20th anniversary is good for the bonus features.

Let's be bad guys.
