30 years old today!
I figured I'd get my own thread too. ; ]
This came out nearly two months after I was born.
I first saw this when I borrowed the VHS from my friend Kyle in 5th/6th grade.
I didn't fully understand or appreciate it then, but I liked it.
Probably one of the first sex scenes I saw, and pretty scandalous for me at the time - neck licking, aye yi yi!
With more knowledge and understanding, I came to like Top Gun more and more every year.
I know it's at times campy, but it also has much to recommend it - themes of friendship, doing the right thing, getting back on the horse, lost loved ones, etc.
The songs - the score - the acting - the spectacle - the camaraderie - the cinematography - the story - the characters - the locales - the fun - the car - on and on.
I saw this at the return to the theaters in 2012. During the whole opening of Danger Zone I was grinning from ear to ear.
Almost 20 years later and it's become, or stayed, one of my 100 favorite movies.
