I laugh every time. Did he just want to see if the gun was powerful enough to kill someone and told him to hold his hat up to mislead him? Or did he miss the hat and kill him by mistake? Either way.... HILARIOUS!!!

I always took it as " he was a bad shot"
But that's just my interpretation.

He was a bad shot. But because they're ruthless people, he didn't care.
Since it killed the guy anyway, it was still proof that the rifle works.
Either way he accomplished something.

Agreed, hes just a bad shot. On anothr note am I the only one who thinks Jack Black must have taken his Nacho Libre accent directly from El Guapo?

He intentionally shot him, he's El Guapo!

I'm pretty sure El Guapo was more interested in the gun's lethality from that range.
