SE DVD...What do we have to do?

I cannot believe there isn't a Special Edition DVD out or coming anytime in the foreseeable (sp) future. What do we have to do? There are obvioulsy people, like me, that herald this as one of the greatest comedies ever made. Why no SE? And, yeah, I'm putting this comedy above the Todd movies, all of the "Amercan" movies, The Hangover, the "Frat-pack" movies and so many, many, more. There just hasn't been a comedy as timeless and funny as Three Amigos to me. If anyone on here can name one topping it, then I'll consider it. Still, I doubt you'll sway my opinion. Give us a Special Edition!

You should read the parts I left out.

Seriously. The current DVD for this movie is simply embarrassing. The one I have has spelling errors on the back of the case and the film cuts off halfway through the credits! And of course, like many '80s movies, there are absolutely no bonus features to speak of.

This movie is a beloved comedy with three major stars. It deserves a better (at the very least, DECENT) DVD release.

I know right? I would totally buy the SE version! I'd love to hear the commentaries by the actors and the director.

Apparently the UK DVD has a much better transfer, and is Anamorphic for your widescreen TVs.

However it is Region 2 locked, so you'll need an all region DVD player to watch it.

And that UK disc has been out for a number of years. I was looking at it back when we still had only the full frame US dvd.

About the end credit cut. I can confirm it is not an ifo file error but a true *beep* I ripped that last vob file back to the pc and played it and sure enough it does end short. I was hoping that maybe it was a simpler ifo file issue and that the content was truly there but the ifo file was telling the dvd player to end sooner. Sadly that is not true

99% of you people send me PM's with questions and never bother to check that I replied to them.

Hopefully with everything being converted to Blu-Ray we will eventually get a cleaned up widescreen print with a trailer at least and maybe a commentary track. Even if it's just Landis he is a very entertaining talker and would certainly have some great stories.

i'm surprised, too. i guess the only thing fans can do is maybe make a Facebook fan page specifically asking for a SE Blu-Ray or the old fashion letter writing to the movie studio.

all people involved are still in pretty good health so maybe an outpouring would fuel a sequel (yeah right)!

Whew. I thought my DVD was the only one that cut off through the credits.
There's not only spelling errors on the box but in the cast list in the dvd supplements.

Oh, no. It most certainly isn't. When I bought it on DVD eons ago, I found the credits cut off and brought the damn thing back to the store for a replacement, thinking that one was going to run completed. Instead, that one cut off the credits too. I traded that one in as well, but I still haven't watched it, and I kept my VHS copy.
